BriSCA Stock Car championship of the World. Coventry 04/09/2010

It's been a busy few weeks in the world of F1 Stock Cars with four meeting taking place since my last post. Myself and my long suffering partner Donna have been to all of them (pictures will follow of the rest) but the all important World Final at Coventry took place on Saturday the 4th of September. The stadium and pits were packed with people from all over the world (mainly UK and Dutch! But some from as far as New Zealand).

The cup on display.
The John Lund 53 car close up.
Dutch fans in clogs!
The Carl Pickering 141 machine.
Big American rig used by one of the dutch racing teams.
Cecil Sayers (Andy Smith's car builder).
Final adjustments at the Lund camp before the big race.
Frankie's team making sure all is well with the car.
The main stand.
Andy Smith on his parade lap with the cup.
Lined up and ready to go!

Unfortunately I don't have any good racing pictures.... :-( I was concentrating on the racing and shouting quite a lot! But suffice to say Andy Smith won again! For the third time.

Frankie looking at what could have been....

1st Andy Smith. 2nd Frankie Wainman Jnr. 3rd Craig finnikin.

Junior accepts second place.

Champagne shower!

A little later Andy is joined by his dad Stuart Smith Snr to congratulate him in front of the crowd.

Time for a couple of pints!

More to come soon!
